my story |for the love of loving

When I started meditating

I remember my parents’ blue station wagon. I was sitting in the front seat with my mother when she told me she wanted a better environment for me, and that she was sending me to live with my grandmother in Miami, Florida. I became very secluded — quiet, withdrawn, and sad… not understanding why. But what I do know is that meditation has been with me my entire life. It helped me understand that my parents were acting out of love and protection. And so, I continued meditating — it’s all I’ve ever known.

As I gazed into the ocean, I was hypnotized by the beauty that nature has to offer, and soon I fell in love with Interior Design. Here, I share my love for beauty and art. I carry a deep passion for bringing beauty into the world through my eyes of design.

Attended the Fashion Institute of Technology for Interior Design, later graduating with a Master’s degree in Architecture from the Baltimore School for the Arts. Licensed in Real Estate in both New York and Florida. Certified Health Coach through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition, Meditation Teacher trained with Deepak Chopra, and Breathwork Instructor. Former owner of Mangrove Marina and the Drop Anchor Resort Hotel. Founder and Owner of The Simply Mindful Marketplace.
“DEDICATION”

My love for the arts is my passion, but food is where my soul lives — where I’m the happiest. They say food feeds the soul, and for me, that’s true… especially when it comes from garden to table. I love exploring different cultures, especially the Blue Zones — places where people live well into their 100s. Their principles of movement, mindfulness, and clean eating deeply inspire me. Throughout this site, we will explore these ideas together, along with recipes for you, your family, and your friends to enjoy.

As I began studying to become a Nutritional Health Coach, I had no idea how deeply it would impact my life. It became my anchor — my life jacket. If your primary foods (your relationships and emotional nourishment) are not fulfilled, then even eating a bowl of broccoli every day—your secondary foods—won’t make you truly healthy. I love helping people understand the importance of talking, listening, sharing, eating, crying, and playing together… finding balance and embracing the beauty of the journey.

Here’s so much to see here. So take your time, look around, and learn all there is to know about us. I bring to you the history of my parents’ culture and their upbringing — the inspiration behind sharing my mother’s (Adelaida Martinez) classical recipes, rooted in the traditions of my grandmother, Delia Robles, whose love for clean, organic food shaped our family. The eagerness to serve others was deeply influenced by my father, Rufino Martinez. This is my story. We hope you enjoy our site, and take a moment to drop us a line.

I like to start my day with protein and energy ingredients, to last me the whole day till dinner: avocados with beans, quinoa, a poached egg, some seeds, olive oil, salt, and pepper to taste

  • Parmesan and fresh parsley for garnishing / plant base cheese 
  • 1/2 cup of egg white (yellow)
  • Parmesan and fresh parsley for garnishing
  • 1/2 fresh spinach
  • 3 to 4 small tomatoes 
  • Melt butter with 1/4 olive oil, gently pour the eggs. Remove from heat, meanwhile sauté the spinach slightly for a second just for it to wilt. Place spinach, tomatoes, grated Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper, fold over the omelette, and sprinkle again with some Parmesan cheese and parsley

Lightly toast the bread brush with a little bit of organic virgin olive oil slice your avocados drizzle with a little bit of salt and pepper instead of using oil to fry your egg add a little bit of water to the pan and a drizzle a bit of olive oil and poach alternatively you can use egg whites

Prosciutto WITH OLIVES-OLIVE OIL AND RED WINE

  1. A good cut of prosciutto slices /lean remvong fat edges
  2. A nice baguette (grain or home made) of your choice
  3. Organic mixed Olives, adding different herbs, olive oil, salt and pepper to taste, adding red pepper corns adds a little kick.
  4. A red Merlot wine would pair nicely with your Mediterranean sandwich

Paella | Spanish rice with seafood

  1. Jasmine rice
  2. Fresh shrimp, muscles, clams, lobster, scallops, octopus, calamari these choices are optional choose as you wish.
  3. A can of your favorite beer dry is preferred, I cup of vegetable broth
  4. White wine your choice
  5. Adding oregano, camino, garlic ,salt, pepper, fresh parsley ,onions, red peppers, peas

Cook the rice and add line 3,4,5 depending on serving size you add the remaining liquid with water. Add the seafood at the middle stages of the rice being cooked. Cover simmer, garnish with pe

  2. Fresh ginger, onions, tomatoes, cilantro, lemon ,fresh virgin olive oil, organic vinegar, salt and pepper

A note from me... Hey, more now than ever, we have a crisis of mental health of chaos of anger we need to take it down a few notches, ladies especially us as women we need to embrace ourselves because we're not gonna get it from anybody else, not the way we can we're strong were mighty.

I don't know about you, but I want to make every day the best day of my life, you know, eating well, sleeping well, laughing, crying, talking, having someone that you can just talk to that will listen, not just hear you, but listen.  So why not treat yourself let's just hang out for a while on the site and read maybe something will spark your interest, and you want to learn or go deeper.
